Republic Records has had a busy 2024 releasing some seriously game-changing songs and they haven’t left us disillusioned with the release of “I Bet You Think About Me” found on the album, Red released on 12 November 2024. The singer is the one and only Taylor Swift, the world’s pop princess! If you’re a Taylor Swift fan like I am, don’t miss out on this one!

My first impression of this song is that there is a deliberate country feel that leads into a melodic symphony of sheer swagger disguised as elegance. Besides the country element, one can observe without a doubt the rock and pop breaking through and welding forces with the lyrics to provide the listener with a clear message of what is being conveyed, and that is, ‘I’m done with you but you can’t forget me!’ Yes, let’s all take a moment to speculate about who in Taylor’s past this could be about, or, let’s bask in the wonder of the beauty and irony in this whole piece of musical artwork.  Something to consider is that although Taylor has been in the public eye and bringing us hit after hit for the last 15 years, the song brings out a child-like quality in Taylor that we don’t still expect to find in the singer as she matures in life and music. Whatever it is, we appreciate it, Taylor, and we embrace it with both hands!

‘I Bet You Think About Me’ is a breath of fresh air in terms of being a harmoniously rhythmically impressive work. The lyrics, together with the imagery presented in the video, give a blatant account of love without staying power and a one-up state of affairs
