The palace was built by the hard work of 22,000 labourers, painters, stonecutters, embroidery artists. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan built-in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The mausoleum’s hues keep changing that depict the Emperor’s wife’s changing moods at different times of the day. It is believed that it took 17 years to complete all the work of the palace. It is one of the most famous Indian landmark and tourist magnet which attracts more than a million tourists every year.

2.Mirabell Palace and Gardens, Austria
Mirabell Palace and Gardens is a beautiful historic building situated in the city of Salzburg, Austria. The UNESCO world heritage site is popular for its gardens which is listed as a cultural heritage monument and it was built about 1606 on the shore of the Salzach river north of the medieval city walls. It was built by Prince-archbishop Wolf Dietrich for his love beloved Salome Alt. Salome Alt has 15 children out of them only 5 survived. The palace includes Roman gods statues, a hedge theatre, gardens that admire the charming flower beds, Pegasus fountain, Grand Fountain, Orangery, and garden of baroque marble dwarfs.

3.Petit Trianon, France
The Petit Trianon is a Neoclassical style palace situated on the grounds of the Palace of Versailles in Versailles, France. It has been built between 1762 and 1768 during the rule of King Louis XV of France. The king wants to gift its chateau to his mistress Madame de Pampadour. Emperor Eugenie converted this palace into Petit Trianon into a museum in 1867 and dedicated it to the life and memory of Marie-Antoinette. Queen Marie Antoinette used it as a secret getaway and during the french revolution, it was presented as a hostel. One of the beautiful monuments of love was built in a Greek-style fashion.

4.Thornewood Castle, Washington
Thornewood Castle is a beautiful historic Tudor Gothic home dating back to over 500 years. It is also known as “the house that loves built,” consist of three buildings, including Thornewood Castle, which was built from the brick of a dismantled 15th-century house imported from England. Talking about history, the monument of love was used as a set for the Stephen King film Rose Red. The palace was registered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is now a bed and breakfast. The monument was created by Chester Thorne who wanted to gift his wife Anna.

5.Dobroyd Castle, England
Dobroyd Castle is one of th beautiful monuments of love and historic building situated in the town of Todmorden, West Yorkshire, England. The castle was built for John Fielden who is a local mill owner in the form of the Social Reformer and MP. It was a symbol of love between two people, John Fielden and Ruth Stansfield. The castle has 66 luxurious rooms, four small turrets, stables for 17 horses, and a central tower. John has admitted her to finishing school in Switzerland to improve education and learn social etiquette.

6.Coral Castle, Florida
Coral Castle is a limestone structure that has been created by the Latvian-American eccentric Edward Leedskalnin (1887–1951). One of the beautiful monuments of love was situated in Miami-Dade County, Florida I between the city of Homestead and Leisure City. The monument was dedicated by Edward Leedskalnin to his 16-year old fiancee, Agnes Skuvst. The sad part is that she left him a day before their wedding and later heartbroken Edward start creating a monument for the love of his life. The castle contains towers, fountains, ornate furniture, and sculptures.

7.Kellie’s Castle, Malaysia
Kellie’s Castle also known as Kellie’s Folly is one of the beautiful monuments of love situated in the Batu Gajah, Kinta District, Perak, Malaysia. The monument has been built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie-Smith for his beloved wife Agnes Smith. The castle has been influenced by Greco-Roman, Indian, and Moorish styles. He also planned a 6-story tower, a rooftop courtyard for entertaining, and an indoor tennis court but it came to a halt in 1926 after Kellie Smith died unexpectedly from pneumonia. Later, the government has taken over the palace.

8.Prasat Hin Phimai in Phimai, Thailand
Prasat Hin Phimai in Phimai is one of the largest Hindu Khmer temples in Thailand situated in the town of Phimai, Nakhon Ratchasima province. One of the monuments of love is also a tourist attraction based in the Nakhon Ratchasima province.It was built by Prasat Hin Phimai for the mysterious and enduring love and tragedy. It is believed that Prince Pajitt travelled the countryside for months in search of his ideal wife and later he fell for a light-skinned pregnant lady. Pagitt considered as her life partner but could not marry her because she is a widow and decided to marry her child when Orapima. when she will reach the age of 16.

9.Kodai-Ji Temple, Kyoto, Japan
Kodai-Ji is a beautiful temple situated in the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism in Higashiyama-Ku, Kyoto, Japan. The ornate structure was built in the memory of her soulmate husband, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, in 1606. The temples has multiple Cultural Assets that include the Main Gate and the Spirit Hall, noted for their use of maki-e. One of the monuments of love is also known as the maki-e temple that holds beautiful paintings, including one of Hideyoshi and textiles with a bronze bell with an inscription dating it to 1606. There was a series of fire that destroys the Kodaiji complex in 1789 and the buildings that survived are Otama-ya, Kaisan-do, Kasa-tei, and Shigure-tei, and Kangetsu-dai.

10.Boldt Castle, New York
Boldt Castle is one of the beautiful tourist attraction situated in the region of the U.S. state of New York. It is near the Saint Lawrence River and was built by George C. Boldt in the year 1900 for his beloved wife Louise Kehrer Boldt. It was built for a duration of 4 years and lies in the Heart Island in the U.S. Thousand Islands. George C. Boldt died just before the completion of the beautiful castle and later all the construction work has been stopped. The property has been vacant for seventy years and it took around 300 stonemasons, carpenters and artists to complete the beautiful castle.
